Burzenski & Company purchased 110 teddy bears for the children who attend Camp Erin Connecticut, a program of The Cove Center for Grieving Children. A teddy bear is placed on the bed of each camper as a comforting, welcome gift to the camp.
Camp Erin® Connecticut is a free weekend-long, May 31- June 2, overnight bereavement camp for youth who are grieving the death of a significant person in their lives. Children ages six to 17 attend a weekend camp experience that combines grief education and emotional support with fun, traditional camp activities. Led by bereavement professionals and caring volunteers, campers are provided a safe environment to explore their grief, learn essential coping skills, and make friends with peers who are also grieving.
On May 9, five Burzenski & Company employees went to The Cove Center’s Meriden headquarters to cut off the ribbons and tags from the bears and to pack them up for the camp. Staff included Shelly Panico, Becky Cagley, Jill Cerravone, Dominic Musto and Paul Falzone. Employee Heather Polyviou organized this event to support The Cove Center.
