Gary Glassman Explains: What your practice can expect from our veterinary financial advisory services
Veterinarians who work with us receive practical recommendations based upon what the numbers tell us. And it's not just about the numbers. It's what's behind the numbers. So we use those numbers to determine what's going on in the practice and how can we make improvements, where we see these financial strengths and weaknesses, and work, especially with those weaknesses, to say, we're going to make recommendations and find ways to improve on those from an operational standpoint, not just from a financial standpoint.
So, it's practical in that we're working with things you can implement that will actually change what the numbers are. You're going to see the difference between your numbers, your practice and the industry benchmarks. So, you'll know at all times, where you sit again within your colleagues practices and what they might show as their financial result compared to yours.
You'll also see the financial, health and performance of the practice. You'll understand your financial strengths and weaknesses, as we said, and you will have enhanced knowledge about your financial results to really get you to make the right decisions not only during your practice life, but also as you move through your practice life. What are we going to do in transition and how do we transition the practice in the end so that you're again receiving the largest financial reward and the right fit for that transition that really kind of works for you.
We do a lot of work and have been doing a lot of work recently with assisting practitioners, with transition work and talking to corporations about how to make the purchase of the individual practice if that's the direction that the practice owner would like to go in. We've also done a lot of practice valuation work and have assisted individual practitioners with transitioning their practice through a structure where maybe the associates going to buy or maybe where a third party is going to come in and buy the practice individually as opposed to selling to a corporation. And we go through that entire exercise to make sure we're finding the right fit in the right direction that really accomplishes everything that the practitioner would like to see happen.
